Imagination Unveils E-Series GPUs for Edge AI and Graphics Processing

Imagination Technologies is shaking up the edge computing landscape with its new E-Series graphics processing units (GPUs), designed specifically for graphics and AI processing at the edge. According to the company, these products redefine edge AI and graphics system design, leveraging a highly efficient parallel processing architecture to deliver exceptional graphics performance while scaling from two to 200 TOPS INT8/FP8 for AI workloads.
In an exclusive briefing, Kristof Beets, vice president of product management at Imagination, explained that the GPUs' innovative design features a clever blending of AI processing components within the chip. This allows the GPU to efficiently handle processing tasks, distinguishing it from other GPUs on the market and enabling Imagination to target specialty markets like automotive.
The E-Series GPU family offers a versatile and programmable solution for future edge applications, including graphics, desktop applications, natural language processing on smartphones, industrial computer vision, and vehicle autonomy.
