Bold New Feature in Brave Browser for Android: One-Tap Blocking of Annoying Website Elements
By Netvora Tech News
The latest update to the Brave browser for Android has brought a game-changing feature: the ability to block annoying website elements with just a single tap. This could be anything from clickbait sidebars to non-dismissible ads or other "page clutter" that gets in the way of interesting content, according to the developers.
A Problem Made Worse on Smartphones
The issue is even more pressing on smartphones, where the limited screen real estate makes every banner feel even more intrusive, especially on news or recipe websites.
With the new "Block Elements" option, users can selectively remove various elements from a website. This feature has been available in the desktop version of Brave for some time, but it has now been tailored and added to the Android version.
How it Works
- Open the Brave browser on your Android device
- Go to the website you want to block elements on
- Tap the three dots on the right-hand side of the address bar
- Select "Block Elements" from the drop-down menu
- Choose the specific elements you want to block (e.g. ads, sidebars, etc.)
And If You Change Your Mind?
Don't worry – blocking elements is also easy to undo. Simply go back to the website, tap the three dots again, and select "Unblock Elements" to restore the original content.
This new feature is a significant step forward in the ongoing quest to create a more streamlined and enjoyable browsing experience on mobile devices. With Brave's "Block Elements" option, users now have more control over the content they see online – and that's a welcome development.
